Hi. My name's Rob Schamberger. I'm that guy who paints rasslers. And other stuff. You’ve been thunderstruck.

WORDS

By its nature, this Thunder Rosa painting was one that didn’t look right to me until I was done with it. That can be intimidating, because I just have to trust my plan for how I’m building up the colors since I can’t ‘see’ that it’s working until the end.

With watercolors, I typically work from light to dark and from warm colors to cool colors. A layer of cool colors can create shadows within the warm colors. And because of that, black is the last thing I’ll normally apply to a painting. So take a look at this again and see how much of it is defined by those deepest shadows. I stuck to my plan and I think it turned out pretty righteous if I do say so myself. Not bad, even.

Cheesy!

FOOD, DUDE!

I didn’t get a chance to make anything fancy this week, but I for sure made something yummy. Lately I like to cook up something that I can easily reheat for breakfasts or lunches over the course of the week and burritos hit that sweet spot.

For these I sauteed a white onion, a red pepper and a package of baby bella mushrooms. Once those were done I spread some refried black beans on a tortilla, added the veggies, sprinkled some shredded taco cheese and poured on some taco sauce. For the two I ate first, once I rolled them up I sprayed them with olive oil and baked them at 400 for 20 minutes. I rolled up the rest and stored them in a container in the fridge to pull out as needed for future meals. (For reheating I recommend 425 for 25 minutes.)

Once they were baked I microwaved a little blanco queso and drizzled that over the top. Delicious!

Love you more,Rob
