For my first-ever Jamie Hayter painting, I was inspired by her floral print gear for the composition. As a design element, flowers don’t come up too often with pro wrestling so I jumped on the opportunity here. I actually took a picture of some flowers in my front yard to use as reference! You honestly never know where inspiration can come from as an artist and I’ve learned to be open to them when they show up.

Sunday night I made this vegetable lasagna for Katy and I with a jarred arrabiata sauce and friend, it was incredible. This was my first time roasting vegetables outside of when I roasted those red peppers a few weeks back and it made the house smell so wonderful. Also my first time doing lemon zest, which brought out so much flavor mixed into the ricotta with some fresh minced garlic.

I’d wanted to make lasagna for a while now but for some reason felt intimidated. This time it definitely turned out delicious!

Plus, if developments this week left you needing to eat your feelings I can’t recommend a good lasagna enough.
